How Do I Block A Country With Joomlawatch? 6 Years ago Karma: 0
Hello All,

I know about blocking by IP, but is there a way to block the traffic from an entire country?

I'm getting way too much malicious bot traffic from Romania. I'd like to block it entirely. Is there a way to do this with joomlawatch?

Thanks

Create a new goal with particular country code and check "block" checkbox

What would be the best way to block everything except the US? I have a city specific site and do not need people from other countries trying to mess with my site. Can I set up a rule to say block all except US? Or is there a list of all country codes somewhere I can add to the blocked country list?

Hi, type US in country condition and check inversed country condition, blocking to 1. this should work

That worked great, thank you. Now I'm wondering where I can edit or even see the block page that they receive? I had some joomla support from a person outside of the US and they told me about the block page. I'd like to see/edit this page. Thank you

Will it go to that url if it is on my domain, and my domain is set to block them?

I looked at the settings and it says redirects have priority over blocking... so I can only assume that no matter what page they go to, it will redirect it to the one I create. Now I just have to make a page for them to go to. Thanks for your help!

I created a "sorry" page but now I have to find a way to test it. I've tried using foreign proxies but none of them will work when I have the redirect on... only if I turn it off.
