Hi,

I'm using joomla watch for months now. While I'm migrating from j1.5 to j2.5 I noticed that I cannot do anything in the backend view.

The install is fine, and yes I've been using the folder for 1.6 and higher package. I also installed the agent module, but the actual component in the backend is empty.

Strangely enough, the menu view from component=>joomlawatch=>livestats etc is visible, but when I click on e.g. live stats I get to see nothing, the joomla backend page is there, but it seems as if the component itself wouldn't load properly???

Any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated.

What about doing a fresh reinstall of the component on 2.5 (using the UNINSTALL_KEEP_DATA option)

I DID a completely fresh install of jwatch (latest release) on a fresh j2.5. I just mentioned my migration to make clear that I have been using this component and I know how to install it properly. I did not migrate any data from 1.5 to 2.5 regarding jwatch.

Again, I cannot administer the component in the backend at all... I only get empty pages. Again, any ideas?

OK, so I found it out it myself. Just in case anybody bumps into this, too. I tried the stable version now and this one works in 2.5.

yes, I've written it all over the web that the stable version is the one which users must try first, the BETA has still some known bugs and probably this is the one. I'll try to reproduce it and fix it in that BETA

I had the same issue with Joomla 2.5.4 today -

I noticed the file admin.joomlawach.php had been changed to include a controller function.

I'm not sure how that function is supposed to get called In Joomla. But I added this line...

echo controller();

after the function (just above the closing php tag) and it seems to now render the admin backend.

Thank you very much for this detailed explanation,
I've already changed it during the weekend - to be compatible for drupal- their code style checker reported me that.
There is a great utility to make these changes to all files recursively: sfk - "swiss file knife"

Sorry for removing my "detailed explanation" about the MAC EOL issues in favor of a short post that got to the core of the real problem - the controller() function not being called. I still have a copy of that original post if you'd like.

After playing more with JoomlaWatch 1.2.18 .836 PRO and filing a bug report regarding the bugs that still persisted with Editing and Deleting Goals, I also found that in the "Settings" (Countries tab) the first 3 options (for the Pro version) are not working correctly. The logo icon will still show in the activity module even if the checkbox is checked. I assumed this could be because of the licensing setup in the Beta version?

Please post a reply when the latest Beta version has these issues I've mentioned over the past few days fixed, and I will re-install fresh to test for you.

Adding echo controller(); does not help in my case. Everything was working smoothly with JoomlaWatch Pro until I have upgraded Joomla! to 2.5.4.

JoomlaWatch would show only the live stats page (front page) whatever function I click.

After I did add echo controller(); I received the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function controller() in /home/mikunisa/public_html/kama_gra/administrator/components/com_joomlawatch/admin.joomlawatch.php on line 420

abba, what version of JoomlaWatch do you use?
Have you tried to reinstall it on your new Joomla?

JoomlaWatch 1.2.17.832 on Joomla 2.5.4 site. I use this on all my 1.5 sites but with the 2.5 sites, I can't see live stats. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times.
