JoomlaWatch 1.5.7 day offset 8 Years ago Karma: 0
JoomlaWatch 1.5.7 is fantastic! I'm really enjoying it but there's one thing I can't figure out. My server is local so the date and time shown in the "We have members and guests online" statement on the stats page are correct. However, the day shown in the "Visit stats for week" and "Daily stats" is always about a day behind. I haven't been able to spont exactly when it rolls over.

I have read all the posts I could find here about setting the day offset and have tried changing it in the settings. Perhaps I didn't understand the posts. Would it be possible for somebody to provide a simple explanation regarding why the day is behind and how I might fix it?

Thanks.

You can try to put into the timezone offset setting the value 24 or -24 and see whether it helps.

That sounded like a good suggestion. When I did it, the date in the "We have guests and members online" line was wrong. I also still need to figure out exactly when the system rolls over to the next day and adjust the server offset accordingly (which will also make the time wrong in the "We have guests and members online" line wrong). I can more easily live with that statement being wrong than a wrong date in the daily stats section. It would just be nice to have both work. Regardless of this minor problem, I absolutely love JoomlaWatch are truly appreciate all the work you've done on it. It's fantastic!

Hi Evan,
hmm.. it's strange. I've tested it, and put number '2' into the TIMEZONE_OFFSET. Both values - a date in the "We have.. " line were increased by 2 hours, and also the times in the "Visitors" section.
Now it's 21:40, and after this adjustment the first line displays:
1315029 We have 15 guests and 4 members online 16.09.2008 23:40:22

and visitor dates:

23:36:41 Freelance, web programming, free joomla ... /index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid...
23:36:36 ...

When I put it back to 0, after a while, the new records have the hour value set to 21 as they've originally had.

All of those values are generated from the php time() function that gets the actual time from server. Don't you have some setting in your Joomla Installation that shifts this module value?

Please check the Timezone value in Joomla's Global Configuration -&gt; Server from the Backend. Maybe this is making these problems.<br><br>Post edited by: matto, at: 2008/09/17 04:50

I had the exact same problem as the OP in the beginning, after playing around with the setting, I was able to fix the problem. The key is to match the &quot; We have guest online 18.09.2008 hh:mm:ss&quot; on the upper left corner to the time zone you define in your joomla's global setting. Eg. my server is located in west coast and my locale is on the east, so I add 3 hrs to the timezone_offset in the setting and voila! hope this helps..

Hi matto, it´s been great using joomlawatch. I had the same issue with the time offset and when I changed the time in the TIMEZONE_OFFSET in the backend the time in the laft hand side also changed, so after trying to solve it, I called my hosting service to tell me how could I fix the server time because I was having trouble, that everyday at 6:oo pm the day changed, and they changed the time the server updates to 00:00 hours. I hope this helps, and hopefully this will correct the time offset. I will not know until tomorrow, but I had to come and tell you what I did. Great job you have done! Thanks for your time, dedication and love for your work!

The other thing I just can't get to work is the number of visitors to show.
Thanks again for this great component.
