[SOLVED] Joomlawatch Visitors Module Styling 6 Years ago Karma: 0
I want to be able to style the module.

The Module class parameter setting field is not showing up in the module back-end.

With this I could remove the unwanted <br /> in the HTML output of that module without interfering with any other module.

Otherwise, if someone could show me which files and where in the files to edit to change the output so it doesn't include the <br /> tags.

These tags really messes up the styling and it's very difficult to fix when the module is "module class" parameters are not appearing in the module back-end.

Any help with this will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Wincheter,
this product comes with NO WARRANTY and NO SUPPORT what is clearly stated everywhere. Also when you downloaded the JW, you accepted that there is NO WARRANTY and NO SUPPORT. This is not I don't care about people who use it, it's because I'm the ONLY developer of this product, and I'm busy in my daily job. It's also written here in this forum - in RED.
I however try to help people who made the donation, because I appreciate their support and it's some kind of return for them.

I wish I'd have more time to develop this extension, but I simply don't have it. I have to finish another project and I'm 10 hours/day at work. So please try to understand that replying to these questions is last thing on my mind.

Soon I will put here the ticketing system which will distinguish between people who made the donation so I can prioritize their questions.

The module class suffix will be there in next version, I have it in my todo list.

Currently, you can add this suffix in: class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Matto,

Thank you very much for your reply. I truly appreciate your situation as much as I do your extension. The truth is, I really like JoomlaWatch and have been watching it for some time now. I first used it on a test site. I am currently developing a Joomla site and wish to introduce it to my client. In fact, I would like to introduce it into an extension package (a group of must-have extensions) which I will offer to my clients to be included with my base website package.

I will look through the class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php file. Once I've fix it successfully, I will explain my solution here for others to see.

Once again, thank you very much.

Best regards,

Thank you. I think, this is the piece of code you are looking for: (line 785)

if (@ $this->joomlaWatch->config->getConfigValue('JOOMLAWATCH_FRONTEND_COUNTRIES_FIRST')) {
$output .= "<br/><br/>" . $outputFirst . "<br/>" . $outputSecond . "<br/><br/>";
} else {
$output .= "<br/><br/>" . $outputSecond . "<br/>" . $outputFirst . "<br/><br/>";
}

Thank you Matto. But I found it already. I don't know much about programming, so I just delete the <br /> tags.

I also added some extra classes to the tables which will allow better styling control.

The edited areas are all over the place, so I'll just submit the class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php file along with the CSS selectors.

Please find the joomlawatch_module_styling.zip file attached which includes the "class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php" and "JoomlaWatch.css" files.

Unzip to a folder on your computer. Copy/upload the "class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php" file to your com_joomlawatch folder over writing the original file there. Copy the CSS selectors from the JoomlaWatch.css file into your site template style sheet and edit as needed.

And that's it.

I've just made an update: included joomlawatch.css (You can find it now in components/com_joomlawatch/css/) into the repository, together with class.joomlawatch.stat.html.php.

You can find this patched version here:
codegravity.com/install/JoomlaWatch-1.2.13_dev-20100922-UnzipFirst.zip

Please note that it's the development version, not the stable one. But I think everything should work.

Hi Wacky9. I'm using JoomlaWatch v1.2.12.

Matto made a patch if you don't mind using the 1.2.13 Dev release. If you'd like to try that instead. It's up to you.

@Matto: Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. I'm going to check it out now.

Just noted the joomlawatch icon appear at the footer - Seems the 1.2.13 broke my licence key and won't reaccept it. Any ideas?

You need to reenter the key in the License section.

Tried that to reenter registration code in the Licence tab after installing the patched version but

"Error: the license key and your domain don't match."

On the Licence page it indicates that my domain is "co.uk" rather than "necl.co.uk" which was indicated previously when I successfully licensed the original 1.2.12 install.

Is there anything I could have 'bot blocked' to have stopped Joomlawatch correctly identifying the domain it's located on?

I might try to go back to the unpatched version and just manually edit the file containing all the <br>

Re:[SOLVED] Joomlawatch Visitors Module Styling 5 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
The module class suffix is not showing in the free version 1.2.12. I installed this latest version for 1.6 and 1.7 and changed the xml file of the module (mod_joomlawatch_visitors.xml). The same changes also work for the other mdules (mod_joomlawatch_agent.xml and mod_joomlawatch_users.xml).

Change the following lines:

<params>
<param name="moduleclass_sfx" type="text" default="" label="Module Class Suffix" description="PARAMMODULECLASSSUFFIX" />
</params>

into:

Code:

<config>
    <fields name="params">
        <fieldset name="advanced">
            <field name="moduleclass_sfx" type="text" label="COM_MODULES_FIELD_MODULECLASS_SFX_LABEL" description="COM_MODULES_FIELD_MODULECLASS_SFX_DESC" />
        </fieldset>
    </fields>
</config>

And the module class suffix field will show up. I have tested this in Joomla 1.6.6 and Joomla 1.7.0. Both worked fine.
