JoomlaWatch: why not .ini format language files? 5 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
hi,

I noticed that on JED many users rated JoomlaWatch high scores. So I think this is a good extension.

Now I am going to translate it into Chinese language and introduce it to thousands of Joomla users in China, but, then I realised that JoomlaWatch still uses PHP format language files.

You know that, Joomla 1.5 and 1.6 both require .ini format language files as the "standard", though your php format language files can "work", but it is not good.

What is more, in the eyes of an extension translator, php format language files are more difficult to translate than .INI format files.

I hope you will improve the language files of JoomlaWatch and make it easier for me to translate it.

Don't forget to include ALL those static strings into the language file so that I can make a full translation.

Thanks.

Hi, it's because we do not want to make our code that much dependent on joomla framework, because in future if we would like to make it work "outside" of joomla, it would be a real problem.

Why do you think is a problem translating the .php files instead of .ini ? The format is just different. Thank you.
