Hi Guys,
besides the localization files for the 1.2.8, there could be some new features.
Some of the things that I've been thinking about, and hearing about, is fear of being 'hacked' or 'spammed'.
Some of the new features that I would like to include would be:

- block an IP after several defined amount of attempts to load the site (eg. 100 pageloads per hour)

- block by a country, or add a country to blacklist/whitelist (yes, it may be a discrimination, but some of the countries have a higher potential that the attackers may come from that country)

- send a warning email about malicious activity on your website (we have to define, what malicious activity is)

- possibility to define a "trap". When there are some spiders and they load your page, and go to a pre-defined link (a trap), the IP will be blocked immediately. (Normal humans could not see that link)

- possibility to block by operating system / browser agent

- some levels of malicious activity on your website (from low to high..)

what are your ideas and what do you think would protect your site more?

Thank you.

Hi

I think these are great ideas and particuarly like the idea of;

- block by a country, or add a country to blacklist/whitelist (yes, it may be a discrimination, but some of the countries have a higher potential that the attackers may come from that country)

- send a warning email about malicious activity on your website (we have to define, what malicious activity is)

Yes, I too agree with your concerns regarding discrimination in the first section however I do have a number of chancers trying it on to try and access the site's admin side and YES they do all come from a single country... An issue to block the country? No, the number of legitimate visitors from this location
will be so small it's not worth considering suffice as to say I have a better odds of winning the lottery!

As to malicious activity, could this be defined perhaps by URL?

I really appreciate your effort in thinking about AntiSpam - AntiHacking system.
I really need it!

My little suggestion could be the possibility to use API system from some specific website (as far as I can tell www.stopforumspam.com/)
But even adding IP List will be really good!!!
Can't wait to see it included in the official version (maybe 1.2.8!!!)
Thank you again.
