Hello,

I installed your component and your module on my site on line.

When I compare the statistics between joomlawatch and joomlastat I have a great difference.

Joomlastat found 30 visits and joomlawatch only 10 (for yesterday the 30th).

In joomlastat I found your 10 visits (in yellow in excel file). But why I don’t find the others visits of joomlastat in your stats?

Thanks a lot.

Have a nice day.

Hello.

Hello,

To know if there are joomlastat or joomlawatch which have the best counters, I installed a third component XITI.

Joomlawatch find 13 visits, joomlawatch 3 visits and xiti 9 visits.

For an other day, joomlawatch and xiti are similar (joomlawatch a little smaller than xiti)

I look in the joomlawatch tables in the database.

I saw the table joomlawatch_ip2c. I think this table is used to define the countries of the visitors.

I have 2 questions:

1.If this table is not up todate, certain visits are not taken in account ?

2. How to update this table.

PS. It seems the site www.maxmind.com/app/geoip_country give a file with all ip by country.

I would like to know the opinion of the creator of joomlawatch.

Hi,
Visits: it depends, what factors are being considered there. Eg. Is your visit after 8 hours an unique visit? Is it unique after 4 hours?

1. - no, it's just optional. So just the additional info is taken from it.
2. - I think it's not that site. It's taken from: ip-to-country.webhosting.info/. I think there's an SQL and CSV file.
You can try to replace the jos_joomlawatch_ip2c with that file. But backup the table first.

Hope it helped.

Regards,

Hello Matto.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

How to choose in joomlastat the number of hours for a unique visit.

is it the parameter CACHE_FRONTEND_VISITORS ?

best regards

Hi Matto

In joomlastat the parameter "Timeout in minutes after that a visitor will be counted as a new visitor" was initialised at 2 hours.

I changed it to 4 hours to see if now the counters of visits will be similar.

my previous question was how to choose in JOOMLAWATCH the number of hours for an uniq visit and what is the standard and correct value to use

thanks again.

Hello,

Always the same interrogation point

yesterday on my site(www.audfray.com) joomlastat display 28 visites, xiti 19 and joomlawatch 3 only.

could you tell me why joomlawatch find so few visits ? Perhaps my settings are not correct ?

I am waiting your answer because I really want to install your composant in my new future site.

Have a nice day

Ok I leave it the whole day.

But I don't understand "Make sure it's published on all webpages too".

I published the module on the right position of my template only when I we are on the home page.

For exemple, if we click on an other branch of the main menu (his work for exemple) the right position disappears with the counters of joomlawatch.

That is a problem ?

Omg.. yes! That's the problem. It just records the visits of your homepage now.
Not the subpages.
Try to publish it in a position that's shown always. Eg. Left. or footer.
Later, you can disable showing of icons, countries, and visits, but the module has to be there.

And on the screenshot - Yes, that's the problem too. There has to be set ALL. I think that above None, you have ALL option.

Hello Matto.

There is very big problem because in my new site I have no position (left right or other) already present.
Perhaps the footer but it is not possible to show the lists of counters of visitors ans countries at the bottom of the site.

With the others components (xiti,
google analytics, joomlastat, phpmyvisites) we have not the problem.

These components ask to add manually (or give a bot) some lines in the parts HEAD or BODY of the template. With these solution, the component works correctly for all pages of the site and we can show the counters where and when you want.

With your browser, list the source of my site and you will see the lines added in the templace.

For exemple, in the part HEAD, the bot google analytics has add the lines

You tell me "Later, you can disable showing of icons, countries, and visits, but the module has to be there." but me I want to show the counters.

It is not possible to have the same solution with joomlawatch ?

Have a nice day.

Hello Matto.

I put your module in the left position already present but the counters are always little. I leave it all the WE to see the results. (see www.audfray.com)

Also problem, in the backend, the ip displayed are sorted as follow:
latest visitors
09.10.2008
10.10.2008
one again 10.10.2008
08.10.2008
bots.

and the number of ip displayed below these dates are not the same on the right under "viits stats for week"

Ok.
Take a pencil;)
1. Make a copy of JoomlaWatch Module from Admin Backend.
2. Make new one position in yours temlate. e.g. user20.
3. Open yours favorite temlate index.php
4. Find :

5. Before add :

<? mosLoadModules('user20') ; ?>

6. Make publish copy of JoomlaWatch for all pages for position user20.
In original JoomlaWatch Module publish pages where you want see module.
For this solution thanks Matto.

Hello Virtik.

Really thanks a lot to you and to Matto for the solution.

I already created a new position in my template (name="joomlawatch") to insert the module joomlawatch in a article (name="The visits")
with the joomla standard plugin "content - load module".
I published the module for all pages of the position "joomlawatch".
So I don't publish the module joomlawatch directly in a position but only inside this article.

In my case, if I understand your solution, I am not obliged to copy the module but I must do:

1. I use my new position "joomlawatch" (already exist)
2. In the admin backend, I edit the html of my template
3. I Find :

4. Before I add :

<? mosLoadModules('joomlawatch') ; ?>

5. I publish the module JoomlaWatch for all pages for position joomlawatch (already done)
6. In my article "The visits", I leave {loadposition joomlawatch} (already done)

I understood well ?

Thanks once again.

Hello.

I have just made the test and I have a problem. The instruction
<? mosLoadModules('joomlawatch') ; ?> is not understood and my site is not displayed any more.
When I look at, in my browser, the source code, it stopped just before this instruction.

the 4 last lines
<? mosLoadModules('joomlawatch') ; ?>

disappeared.

Do you understand what happens ?

I think,that mosLoadModule is for joomla 1.0. For 1.5 - look at your template file, I don't remember exactly. Then, use this, instead of mosLoadModule in the approach mentioned.

Re:wrong counters ? not sure 8 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hello Matto.

1.First good news

I found the synthax for 1.5.

For 1.0
<?php if (mosCountModules('user1')>0) { ?>

<?php mosLoadModules('user1',-1); ?>

<?php } ?>

For 1.5
<?php if ($this->countModules('joomlawatch')) : ?>

<jdoc:include type="modules" name="joomlawatch" style="none" />

<?php endif; ?>

Now the frontend is correctly displayed that means the instructions are accepted.
When I look the source with my browser I see:

Visitors

This month:

1

Total:

1

Countries

I don't know if the solution works correctly because I am always in local but I hope.

I did the same thing in my online site (in 1.0) and I will tell you if it is ok.

But Matto, could you to make a plugin that write these lines in our place (like other component)

2. Second good news.
On my site online (www.audfray.com) we can see that joomlawatch has found 10 visits yesterday (11/10). Xiti has found the same number (11 visits).

Hello Matto.

I would like to do a test on my online 1.0 site but I don't know how to create a non existant position in my 1.0 template.

It is easy in 1.5 but in 1.0 I do not remember any more.

Could you help me please ?
