â€¢ Dhakshina Cluster Series I is a High Performance Computing System using the Beowulf Architecture, with a peak speed of 180 Gflops. Dhakshina started as a simple desire for improved performance of applications over that provided by a single computer (which had limitations when used for high-end programs such as those required in scientific research). Typically being much more cost-effective than single computers of comparable speed or availability, clusters have proved to be efficient in all regards for large-scale applications. Aimed at the professionals and students interested in the research and development of parallel processing applications, Dhakshina is benchmarked at a top speed of 70 Gflops.

A remote user can log in from any location in the world to the homepage of the Web server through the Internet/Intranet and the user is presented with the current status of equipments.
