• This is the extension of the concept of automation into a complete wireless home automation solution with Zigbee as the communication standard. ZigBee is the name of a specification for a suite of high level communication protocols using small, low-power digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for wireless personal area networks (WPANs), which operates in the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands; 868 MHz in Europe, 915 MHz in the USA and 2.4 GHz in most jurisdictions worldwide. The feature set is ideal for complete automation, specifically apt for the homelike environment.
Name of the project: ‘DHAKSHINA’ Cluster Series I (LINUX based Cluster HPC)
• Dhakshina Cluster Series I is a High Performance Computing System using the Beowulf Architecture, with a peak speed of 180 Gflops. Dhakshina started as a simple desire for improved performance of applications over that provided by a single computer (which had limitations when used for high-end programs such as those required in scientific research). Typically being much more cost-effective than single computers of comparable speed or availability, clusters have proved to be efficient in all regards for large-scale applications. Aimed at the professionals and students interested in the research and development of parallel processing applications, Dhakshina is benchmarked at a top speed of 70 Gflops.
Name of the project: Remote Control Over Internet
• A system which controls hardware devices over the Internet. A remote user can log in from any location in the world to the homepage of the Web server through the Internet/Intranet and the user is presented with the current status of equipments. Now he can control the equipments as required. Local control is also made possible. Finally, the remote user will receive back the confirmation message that the status of the devices has been changed as per the control signal sent by him.
